The Immigration Series: Everything You Need to Know About Moving to Canada

The Immigration Series

Key Takeaways:

  • In 2021, Canada hopes to welcome 401,000 new permanent residents.
  • However, 90,000 of these slots are for temporary health care workers, temporary workers in other critical jobs, and international students.

Nevertheless, there has recently been a rise in demand among professionals and entrepreneurs eager to start a new section in their lives by buying or starting a business in Canada.

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have commenced accepting applications under three streams as of May 6, 2021, to reach its goal of welcoming 401,000 new permanent residents in 2021. 20,000 applications for temporary health care workers 30,000 applications for temporary workers in other essential occupations have been received.

40,000 applications were received from international students who had previously attended a Canadian educational institution. “Federal Business/Economic Immigration programs are the most popular among people aged 35 to 60.”

The most popular visa programs have been Intra Company Transferee work permits, Entrepreneurial LMIAs (Labour Market Impact Assessment paperwork used to hire a foreign worker in Canada), C11 work permits, and startup visa programs.

“We have received various queries from people who are keen to invest anything ranging from USD 50,000 to USD 2 million,” said Lovedeep Arora, managing director and co-founder of Ace Luxury Immigration Solutions.

Canada does not have a schedule that allows people to offer residency by investing in real estate. However, there are avenues for a foreigner to invest in actual estate-related businesses/corporations such as development, renovations, construction, agriculture, warehousing, and so on, which may help him immigrate.

If you purchase a piece of land and not make a move, it will be purposeless. However, if you are buying a piece of land, cultivate it, hire local workers, and run it as an agricultural business, you may be able to fulfill your immigration dream in addition to the investment,” Arora added.
