- Units replied to a fire Sunday morning at an apartment building on Windmill Road.
Units doused a fire Sunday at a three-story apartment building on Windmill Road in Dartmouth.
One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, according to Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency District Chief Pat Kline.
Kline said units responded to a place on Windmill Road near Albro Lake Road at 7:56 a.m.
Kline said the blaze was found on the lower level at the back of the building, away from the road.
Most of the citizens had vacated the building by the time teams arrived. Kline said one person had to be taken down by a ladder from a balcony.
“The teams did a fabulous job hitting it down fast and keeping the fire to two units,” Kline said.
Investigators stay at the scene, Kline said.
Kline said the Red Cross had been told to help those incapable of returning to their teams because of fire damage.
