The event goes down in Hungary on Sunday, November 14th. The list of creators who will perform at the 2021 MTV EMA has been expanded to include Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Griff, Yungblud, and Girl in Red.
Imagine Dragons, nominated for Best Rock and Best Group, will perform their new song “Enemy” with rapper J.I.D. Yungblud, who won Best Push last year, will perform his new song “Fleabag,” while Griff, nominated in both the Best Push and Best New categories, will make her first appearance at the award.
Girl in Red, a Norwegian indie-pop singer, nominated for Best Push and Video for Good, will perform her breakout single “Serotonin” from her debut album If I Could Make It Go Quiet.
With superstars like Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Kid Laroi on the nominations list, the MTV EMA event in 2021 promises to be a can’t-miss event. But that’s only the beginning.
This year’s performances are taking things international, in addition to the big awards and must-see red carpet fashion. Maluma, a Colombian superstar, Maneskin, an Italian glam-pop band, and Kim Petras, a German future-pop artist living in Los Angeles, will perform at the E.M.A. in 2021. Maluma is going to the competition for the second time, having made his debut in 2020 with a mashup of “Djadja” and “Hawái.”
In addition, he is nominated for two awards: Best Latin and Best Latin American-Central Act. Mneskin will be making their E.M.A. debut in addition to being nominated in the Best Rock and Best Group categories.
Meanwhile, Petras continues the momentum she started with her stunning 2021 V.M.A.s pre-show rendition of “Future Starts Now” by bringing the show to Hungary, where it will be held at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna.
Bieber leads this year’s nominees with eight overall nominations, including Best Artist, Best Pop, and Best Song, as announced last week, while Doja Cat and Lil Nas X aren’t far behind with six each. Sheeran, Rodrigo, and The Kid Laroi are the following three artists with five.
